It's been such a busy half term that Bagheera has fallen miles behind on keeping the website updated! So let's have a whistlestop tour of the past few weeks!

Way back at the start of this half term was Pancake Day. The Squirrels and Beavers enjoyed selecting the toppings for their crepe style pancakes while the Cubs and Scouts made their own on top of tin cans with tealights heating them.

12th March saw us returning to, mostly, different activities for our sections. The Squirrels had a great time building their own constructions which was especially fun under the table!
The Beavers worked on their Disability Awareness badge by looking at the Communication aspect.
The Cubs and Scouts had a joint meeting again on the 12th where they looked at the work of artist Wassily Kandinsky and created their own pieces inspired by his.

On the 19th, the Squirrels and Beavers got back together to look at water and how we use it, including a demonstration involving buckets to show how much water is used for things like showers and flushing toilets.
The Cubs and Scouts ventured away from the church to visit the local library so the Cubs could work on their Book Reader badge and the Scouts on their Librarian badge.

Between meetings, there was the District Chief Scout Award presentation on the 22nd where Brian, Sam, Annalise and Poppy were all officially awarded their certificates for completing the highest achievable award for their section: Acorn for Brian and Bronze for Sam, Annalise and Poppy.

The final sectional meeting of the term saw the Squirrels building dens for the teddy friends who joined them that night, the Beavers learning about service animals as part of their Disability Awareness badge, the Cubs design and make their ideal campsite and the Scouts doing some experiments.

The first meeting of April was the last meeting of the term before the Easter Break. In true 4th Gosport style, all sections joined together and families were invited. For the first time, however, it was with all four sections!
The evening started off with the egg drop challenge, where the family teams had to work together to protect an egg so when it was dropped from a height, it shouldn't break.
While this was going on, there were raffle tickets being sold and small sticker and badge items to purchase, all to raise money for the group.
At the end of the meeting, after all the fun, each section were awarded all the badges they'd earned throughout the term and invested Skip as our Scout Leader!
It was a really eventful evening, raising £211.43 for the group, handing out 64 badges and the investiture! Those badges also meant Brian completed the whole Squirrel Scout Activity Badge set and so was awarded his completion certificate!
